Windmill Park estate wins £50k in public vote

People from the Windmill estate celebrate winning £50K

Announced today - Windmill Park Community Centre in Southall has won £50k of funding from People’s Millions – following a public vote.

Viewers of ITV London News were invited to vote for Windmill Park if they felt they deserved the money. In an overwhelming response, Windmill Park was selected as the winner.

The cash will now be used to transform a disused shower room into a multi-use space with a recording studio, IT suite, space for arts and crafts, ESOL lessons, and CV training.

Ollie Hall, Windmill Park resident said: “It is amazing that we won the cash, this is the best thing that has happened to Windmill Park.”

Wilbur Yankey, Community Development Officer for Catalyst Communities Housing Association said: “The cash is going to make a huge difference to the community and we can’t wait to get started with the transformation. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped Windmill to win, we couldn’t have done it without you.”
