Ealing homes for the 55s and over
Brand new one and two bedroom homes for Catalyst and Ealing Council tenants in Ealing Broadway
Would you like to live in a fantastic new home in the centre of Ealing, close to local shops, the library and excellent public transport links?
Catalyst and St George are developing brand new one and two bedroom apartments as part of an exciting new regeneration project. If you are aged 55 or over, and a Catalyst or Ealing council resident, you could move in this year.
Dickens Yard will be a vibrant new place to live with homes set above ground level overlooking traffic free streets and open spaces lined with shops and cafes. The development has been designed to complement the architectural heritage of the area linking three Ealing Victorian landmarks – the Town Hall, the Old Fire Station and the parish church of Christ the Saviour.
All the flats are designed to be warm and comfortable, featuring modern amenities in well designed, accessible blocks. All will have lift access and safe and secure entry systems.
Ealing Broadway station (rail and underground) is only a short distance away and there are many bus routes running along the Uxbridge Road. Ealing Broadway shopping centre is right on the doorstep.

Dickens family member visits site
The team at Dickens Yard recently welcomed John Dickens (pictured right), great grandson of the builders’ merchant who owned the site for many years. Mr Dickens said that ‘Ealing was known as queen of the suburbs when I was growing up and I am delighted that the family name will be at the forefront of the regeneration of the area. After my great grandfather started the company in 1800 the business was passed down the generations until 1980.
Now that I have two daughters the name has clearly run its course. It is therefore a fitting tribute to the family and former employees who were instrumental in the company’s success.’
Dickens Yard update
The building work is on schedule and the first properties will be ready in the summer of 2012. The development is providing sustainable homes, with the materials removed from the site being recycled and reused in different parts of the UK. St George is also commited to supporting a more eco-friendly way of life at Dickens Yard and building greener, more energy efficient and economical homes.
St George is registered as part of the considerate constructors scheme which commits them and their contractors to be good neighbours, clean, respectful, safe, environmentally conscious, responsible and accountable. This means that St George must act in a considerate way towards all those who are affected by the building works.
