Paying for a care home
You should find out how you will meet the fees of the care home before you start searching for one. Help may be available from the NHS or your local council
Before you decide on a care home, you must make sure you know how you are going to pay the fees. You may be entitled to some help from your local council or from the NHS. Your local council social services department will help you with this. You’ll be assessed and if you’re eligible, part or all of your fees will be paid for.
Local authority funding is means tested and based on the assets and income of the person needing care, whereas NHS funding is solely based on the medical needs of the patient.
Privately funded beds are available throughout the home for private care. Please contact us today if you’re considering this as an option.
There are serveral charities and other agencies that can provide help and advice on paying for a care home.
