During 2011/12 we’re due to complete more than 1,300 new homes in London and the South East.
We are always looking for opportunities to develop more sites for a range of tenures, including:

Award winning quality
Catalyst is proud of its award winning record for developing high quality homes:
- We were named Affordable Home Ownership Provider of the Year in 2011, commended for ‘introducing outstanding schemes into the market, whilst considering the needs of the community and the environment’
- Our development in South Acton was named Best Regeneration Project 2011 at the Affordable Home Ownership Awards, and Best Urban Regeneration at the 2011 First Time Buyer’s magazine awards
- Our regeneration of Dee Park in Reading won silver for ‘Best Partnership scheme’ at the prestigious 2011 What House? Awards
- Portobello Square, part of our Wornington Green regeneration scheme, won a Project Winner accolade at the 2011 Housing Design Awards

Expanding our development work
We will build more than 5,400 new homes by 2020, housing 16,000 more people.
New product development
Catalyst has an impressive track record of providing solutions to match customer demand.
We helped to develop the successful My Choice HomeBuy product and also created the financial package for the government’s Mortgage Rescue Scheme, helping to prevent repossessions for families in financial crisis. We work closely with local authorities to create and co-fund locally tailored products such as equity loan schemes.
Our Homeownership Westminster service, which we deliver on behalf of Westminster City Council, provides focused support for high priority groups, including current social tenants.
Supported housing and care services
We’re keen to develop more supported housing and care service schemes, especially in the field of care for older people. This includes sheltered and extra care, as well as units for sale within these schemes. We already work with a number of care providers and their specialist knowledge supports our partnerships and ensures we deliver high quality facilities.
Private sales
Catalyst by Design is our profit making subsidiary company which develops homes for private sale. We use the profits to cross subsidise our charitable work as a social housing provider. Following the dramatic drop in government grant for new affordable homes, Catalyst by Design plays a crucial role in funding our work. It also reflects our commitment to developing mixed income, mixed tenure, communities.
Catalyst by Design sold its first properties in 2011, and is currently active on sites in Luton, Kensington and Harrow. Within five years, we expect Catalyst by Design to deliver around 300 private sale homes each year.
We are interested in further joint venture opportunities with developers to build homes for private sale.
