Summer in Da City

Summer In Da City is an energetic, vibrant and diverse programme of activities, that offers alternatives for young people during the long summer holidays. The programme is incorporates a wide range of skills-based workshops that are delivered locally and for free, in neighbourhoods across London Catalyst Communities housing stock.

The programme of activities takes place over Mondays and Tuesdays during August. Typically each session consists of a practitioner visiting the neighbourhood to deliver the activity. The practitioner is supported by local volunteers and CCHA Community Development and Housing Management staff. The volunteers are required to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau and invited to attend a training event before the programme.

Summer In Da City also carried out research, investigating young peoples views on “safety”.
