SODC equity scheme
South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) Equity Loan Scheme
For eligible individuals living or working in the South Oxfordshire area.
About the Scheme
The SODC Equity Loan is a scheme that is funded and supervised by South Oxfordshire District Council. Catalyst Housing Group’s HomeBuy Department is responsible for marketing the scheme on behalf of SODC and referring suitable candidates for consideration.
Who is eligible?
The scheme aims to help individuals, couples or families living or working within the South Oxfordshire area who have been priced out of the market to afford a property on the ‘open market’ i.e. a pre-owned property that can be found through conventional routes such as an estate agent.
There are a number of questions that have to be asked about your present circumstances to ascertain whether you may be eligible to proceed. If you think you could be eligible you are encouraged to speak to one of our helpful representatives who can be contacted using the numbers below.
How much loan can I get?
If you are eligible, you may be able to get a loan of up to £50,000. In other words, you could increase your buying power by up to £50,000 to buy a property that you would otherwise be unable to afford.
Is there any interest on the loan?
No, you would not be required to pay any ongoing interest on the loan. When you sell the property in the future, you would simply pay back the same percentage that was funded at the time of purchase.
