If you are on a low income or you get certain benefits, and you are one of the people in your home who pays the rent, you may be entitled to Housing Benefit. Housing Benefit is paid by your local council. Your local council will take a number of things into account when deciding whether you are entitled to Housing Benefit and, if you are, how much you will get.
