Being a good neighbour and tackling anti-social behaviour

Catalyst Communities Housing Association

Dealing with anti-social behaviour

Catalyst Communities has a clear policy in place for dealing with anti-social behaviour in all its forms. You can download a leaflet below that tells you about our policy and procedure in relation to anti-social behaviour.

We will always listen to every complaint and try to find ways to assist you with any problems you are experiencing. If we are not the best people to help you we will try and identify other organisations that may be better placed to do so.

To report anti-social behaviour in your local area, use our online anti-social behaviour report form.

Your neighbourhood

We need your help to make sure your neighbourhood is a pleasant place for all residents to live.

We need you, as a tenant, to:

  • consider your neighbours in the way you behave
  • remember we are all different, and to value your neighbours and their views
  • speak to your neighbours where possible, and try to sort out any problems.
What is anti-social behaviour?

Catalyst Communities defines anti-social behaviour as any act – deliberate or accidental – that:

  • causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress
  • interferes with the peace, safety or comfort of an individual or group.

Anti-social behaviour covers a range of activities from selling drugs, through committing criminal acts, to making too much noise.

Examples of anti-social behaviour include:

  • causing a nuisance
  • harassing people
  • committing domestic violence
  • abandoning cars
  • fly-tipping
  • youths and gangs causing trouble.
