Health ServicesChiropody Acton Care Centre can arrange chiropody services. As the NHS service has a long waiting list, we do encourage patients to use the regular private chiropody service. General medical servicesActon Care Centre works in partnership with a local GP Practice. They visit the centre three times a week, with each unit having an appointed GP to ensure continuity. Patients may wish to retain their own GP but only where that GP is willing to travel to Acton Care Centre. Out of hours services are provided by NHS Direct and locum medical services. NursingActon Care Centre provides full care services for long and short term stay patients. Trained nursing staff are on duty 24 hours a day. All patients have a named nurse and keyworker, who manage the health and social care needs of each individual. PhlebotomyA phlebotomist visits on a weekly basis to take blood tests and this reduces the need for patients to visit the outpatient clinics. PhysiotherapyActon Care Centre provides physiotherapist services twice a week for general therapy. More intensive treatments can be arranged privately. Dental HealthA dentist visits as and when necessary. Private and NHS treatment can be arranged for all the patients at Acton Care Centre. Eye testsThe optician visits the centre on a regular basis and eye tests are free to all. Community pharmacyA local community pharmacy supplies the centre with all its general and specialist medicines. |
