Development update

Toucan Close, London NW10

Toucan Close (Abbeyfields phase one) is the first residential scheme to be developed as part of the regeneration of Park Royal, which will eventually include new offices, a hotel, leisure park, tube station and other infrastructure.

The scheme consists of 42 new homes, comprising: nine one bed flats, four two bed flats, 22 three bed maisonettes, six four bed houses and one five bed house.

Although the majority of units provide larger family homes for rent, this is a mixed tenure development, with four two bed shared ownership flats, and six one bed flats for intermediate rent to qualifying keyworkers, such as teachers or hospital workers.

Although a high density has been achieved on the site, every home has some form of private external space, and most units have a private garden.

There was a phased handover of the scheme, with the first units handed over in March 2006, and the last units handed over in June 2006.
