Development updateRoundwood estate, London NW10The Roundwood estate was part of a stock transfer from the London Borough of Brent to Fortunegate Community Housing in 1998. The Roundwood estate was refurbished in six phases, over a period of eight years. External works to the blocks consisted of overcladding the exterior to increase thermal insulation, fabric repairs, upgrading of front doors, removal of linked balconies and the provision of lifts and entry phones. The estate also benefitted from resurfacing of estate roads, new estate lighting, and new children's play equipment. Internal works consisted of bathroom and kitchen renewals, rewiring, and asbestos removal. Heating and window replacements were dealt with by separate contracts in advance of the main contracts. All work was done with residents in occupation. Development Profile - Roundwood estate (416 KB / 4 pages)
