Amersham Road, Reading

This scheme involved a high-energy efficiency programme, with EC THERMIE funding for 50 homes, as part of a larger 190 home development in Reading. Innovative features included solar panels for 24 houses to pre-heat hot water, passive stack ventilation, Warmcell recycled newspaper for loft insulation and materials from sustainable sources.

Subsequent monitoring has confirmed a 31% energy reduction to the houses, with an average solar contribution of 57%
